eCatalogues integrated with SOP systems

eCat program

Initial catalogue 'program' is obtained by the Customer in several ways

  • Downloaded from 'secure' area on the suppliers Web Site.  The secure area is password protected to only allow approved visiotors in.
  • CD in the post.
Order Flow
Once the customer has the eCat program on his computer he is ready to 'compile' his order using the many different sort & search mechanisms within the eCat program.  When the order is finished he should print a copy out for his records.

Sending the order to the supplier is as simple as pressing the SEND button on the eCat Toolbar.  The program does everything automatically, dialing and logging onto the Internet and then sending the file to Blue Squares server in Windsor.   For a  typical order the whole dial, send & disconnect process would take less than one minute.

New catalogue/price list flow

At intervals pre defined by the supplier, the eCat program will 'warn' the customer that a new catalogue/price list file should be downloaded.

Like the Sending of orders, downloading a new catalogue/price list is as simple as pressing the NEW CAT button on the eCat Toolbar.  The program does everything automatically, dialing and logging onto the Internet and then retrieves the latest catalogue/price list from the Blue Square server in Windsor.   A  typical 5000 item catalogue/price would take about two minutes to connect, download and disconnect.   The eCat program then takes a further two or three minutes to organise the new file ready for use.
